Your Guides

The secret to winning Transalp tours is foremost the tour leader and associate guides. We are lucky to be able to draw from a highly qualified pool of outgoing, capable and interesting individuals who have fulfilling, regular careers but each summer wish to share their contagious enthusiasm for mountain biking and the alpine environment with our guests.

Our guides are university-educated, local to the Alps and enjoy communicating their insight into the natural, cultural and political history of the diverse regions we visit. We equip all guides with cell phones, repair and First Aid kits and ensure they have appropriate emergency response training.

In 2004, all tours will be co-lead by Dr. Christoph Gnieser, the company’s director, who still maintains a contagious enthusiasm for guiding our guests himself. Bios of this year’s associate guides will be posted shortly, once our busy seasonal work schedule has been settled.
