Transalp Riders – We take the guesswork out of foreign mountain bike travel!

Yes, you can probably put together your own trip across the Alps, but you’re likely going to waste precious time bush-whacking on goat paths that leave you stranded or competing with a stream of hikers on crowded trails.

Leave the logistics to us - the Alps are our home. We’ve invested a considerable amount of time in designing imaginative trip itineraries.  We speak the local languages and are familiar with the best trails for epic or easy riding. More importantly, we know whether they are legal and scenic. Join us and treat yourself to a care-free mountain bike vacation.

Transalp Riders – We introduce alternatives to ordinary travel in Europe!

If you’ve been looking for an active way to explore Europe without the stifling crowds, stodgy museums or stuffy cities, you may have found your dream vacation in one of our mountain bike trips across the Alps.

We offer a stimulating blend of activity and relaxation with plenty of opportunities for cultural exchange and informal learning. Whether it is raw mountain top scenery or traditional mountain culture, mental relaxation or physical exertion, our expertly-designed Transalp trips can meet your travel needs.

Transalp Riders – We provide a Unique ‘Epic-or-Easy’ Option!

Be your own judge as to whether you want to crank and enjoy the physical satisfaction of an epic day or if you’d rather unwind and relish local sights, folks and fare. Regardless what your decision (or that of your partner) may be, our trips are designed so you’ll still end up at the same destination at the day’s end. No up-front commitment needed, just wait and see how you feel each morning before deciding whether to go ‘epic’ or take it ‘easy’. In either case, you can’t miss out on the action as both the epic and easy itineraries maximize your vacation experience in different ways.

Most of our trips provide you with a daily option, which clearly sets our trip design apart from others in the business.

Transalp Riders – We offer an environmentally-friendly and sustainable travel choice

We’re proud to be part of a growing number of tourism operators who are committed to sustainable operational practices. This includes making use of Europe’s convenient and expedient rail system to get us from and to the airport at the start and the end of each trip.

We have very carefully selected family-run businesses as our partners, who meet our standards of comfort and English competency. Wherever possible we are supporting restaurants and B&B’s that serve organic or homemade products, or else hold recognized certifications as sustainable operators. No less than 2% of our annual profit is earmarked as cash or in-kind donations to nature conservation projects in and outside the many protected areas of the Alps.

Transalp Riders – We help you get on with the ‘lifetime adventures’ list!

The annual Transalp Challenge mountain bike race across Europe’s continental divide is the latest craze in long-distance biking and has begun to rival the ‘Tour de France’ and the ‘Giro d’Italia’ in public appeal. We recap the spirit of this epic race at our own pace.

The increasing number of European recreational riders who are retracing the legendary Transalp race stages each year demonstrates that Transalp riding is feasible for a well-trained but mortal cyclist. In North America, the Transalp phenomenon hasn’t caught on yet as a result of language barriers, confusing trail networks / signage and the overall perception of Europe being expensive.

Let us show you breathtakingly scenic and legendary trails through the Alps – taking the easy or the hard way – whatever you prefer.

Transalp Riders – We ride XC - literally!

We are your only address for real cross-country riding! Almost every other day, our trips cross hassle-free, international and cultural borders to fully savor ‘Old World’ diversity.

We afford you an intimate insight into three or even four alpine countries within 8-12 days of exciting riding. There is no short-changing: we help you ride and experience the total breadth of the Alps – going all the way on feasible and exhilarating trails.

Transalp Riders – We break away for a fresh look at the heart of Europe!

Don’t spin yourself silly on the same old trails and at the usual destinations this summer! Our travel program brings you the best of European mountain sights and breath-taking riding experiences - but on paths less traveled and unknown to all but the locals.

We are the only specialized trip operator for North American mountain bikers offering rides that cross the breadth of the Alps. Click in and savor the legendary cultural flavors and stupendous environmental diversity of Europe’s tallest mountains!

Transalp Riders – We put the mountain back into mountain biking!

We offer an unmatched all-mountain vacation experience within a reasonable timeframe, dependable customer service and at fair value.  We’ll maximize your hard-earned holiday with stunning rides, local knowledge of natural and cultural diversity, and the accomplishment of traversing one of the world’s great mountain ranges under your own power.

Transalp Riders - We value diversity!

It's always a pleasure to have variety in riding, as it is in having a diverse group of guests. We enjoy working with all people who bring good energy to our tours, irrespective of race, gender or sexual orientation.
