Transalp Ski Quest: A Winter Crossing of the Alps
A traverse of the Swiss Alps by skiing out-of-bounds from one big-mountain resort to the next (with hassle-free baggage transfer) may seem like a larger-than-life fantasy. But we have done it and, hands down, it’s the ultimate seven-day ski experience.
Many of the breath-taking runs on this tour count among the best off-piste adventures in Europe. The resorts along the way speak for themselves too: Engelberg, Andermatt, Susten Pass, Airolo.
Still, the High Divide proves to be a challenge and we’ll rely on every trick of the trade to get across including a heli drop, short climbs on alpine touring gear and a couple of rappels into remote bowls – just enough to raise your heart beat a notch.
